August 20, 2020

Staff and volunteers at Birchwood have been working hard everyday, on the front line offering vital support and provision targeting vulnerable individuals and families most in need in this difficult and worrying time.

Birchwood’s ‘Self isolation doesn’t have to mean social isolation’  project is a social isolation support service in response to the Coronavirus set up to support and help our local community who are self isolating or experiencing social isolation.

Stella Connell CEO at Birchwood “the majority of individuals that Birchwood supports are already struggling and extremely vulnerable. The impact of the Coronavirus on their lives will not doubt put pressure on fragile communities already experiencing a wide range of health and social problems and have serious implications both short term and long term. Birchwood’s social isolation project aims to reduce the negative impact as much as possible. Birchwood is in a very good position to quickly identify and target support due to our wide range of community based services and interventions. We are trusted within the local community and are here to help”
